Tony Parker Is Suing For $20 Million Over The Drake/Chris Brown Brawl

We all saw this coming. The fight between the camps of Chris Brown and Drake  left at least eight people injured, and Tony Parker (a guard for the San Antonio Spurs and ex-husband of Eva Longoria) was one of them. He’s suing W.i.P.– the now-infamous SoHo club where it all went down– for $20 million, for  an injury he suffered during the fight. Methinks Parker and his scratched retina are about to get payed. The Associate Press has released this statement:

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is suing a New York City club and its operators for $20 million over a scratched retina he says he suffered during a fight involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage

The suit was filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Thursday. It says the W.i.P club in SoHo and its operators were negligent in security and supervision, which allowed the fight to take place.

I told you guys last week– after I saw those horrific photos of the Australian girl who got hit and Chris Brown‘s bodyguard– that it was about to go down in a courtroom. So yeah, it’s going down. I’m sure Tony Parker– and other people who could actually use the money– will fight for their right to party in the safe and swanky locations of their choice.

Parker is supposed to play in the Summer Olympics next month and he told TMZ that with all of the shards of glass (from the bottles) flying about, he could have easily lost an eye. Here are the photos TMZ released of Parker at W.i.P. that night.

 

 

 

But here’s a question: Should W.i.P be held responsible for the incident? If you watched the video, you saw how out-of-control things got. Were they supposed to step in sooner, before anyone got hurt? Or should the people responsible for the fight (and I feel like we still don’t know exactly who those people are) be held responsible for the injuries? Oh– and did you notice how the press release named Chris Brown specifically, but only referenced the members of ‘Drake’s entourage,’ and not Drake himself? Hmmm…
