It’s strange to think that a grown man can go missing in this day and age, especially when that man is a famous musician like Jaz Coleman. But it happens. The Killing Joke frontman is said to be missing, and his band-mates have posted on their Facebook page that they are “concerned about his welfare.”
The post says that Coleman is “AWOL” and has not contacted any members of the band. The post also expressed the band’s regrets about the whole incident.
“We are deeply embarrassed by this and offer our sincere apologies to all involved. We are all concerned about our missing singer’s welfare.”
Coleman disappeared after “maligning both the Cult and the Mission” on Facebook (that post has been erased), two bands that Killing Joke was set to tour with in September.
The English post-punk group is booked to play five shows in September with Coleman, guitarist Kevin “Geordie” Walker, bassist Martin “Youth” Glover and drummer “Big” Paul Ferguson. The rest of the band want to do their best to try and keep up with the tour, but if Coleman continues to be missing, Killing Joke will have to make other arrangements, which probably means canceling and/or rescheduling shows.
Killing Joke has been an influential band to many greats like Nirvana, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction. Hopefully Coleman turns up soon so the band can continue supporting their latest album MMXII, which was released earlier this year in April.
What do you think?
