He may be a TV and movie star but that hasn’t stopped Braff from reaching out to fans and some of his famous friends to help him get the funds for “Wish I Was Here.” The film is a follow up to Zach’s smash hit Garden State. As you know Garden State was the actor’s directorial debut and he is looking for a repeat with the new film. He co-wrote the new movie with his brother and will star in it as well. You can see more deats on the film here.

As for his Kickstarter campaign, well the Scrubs star has a goal of $2 million dollars that he is hoping to reach by May 24th. He is off to a great start too and his video, which you can see below, was only posted today. Some of famous pals have already got the ball rolling so to speak.

For those of you are are unaware of what exactly the whole Kickstarter thing is, let me give you a brief lowdown. It is a social media type way for people to get funding for their projects. It was first noticed when Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell used it to get funding for the Veronica Mars movie. The best part is your donation comes with a reward. For example those who donate $100 or more to Braff’s campaign can qualify for advance screening of the movie that would include a Q&A session. Those who can cough up $1000 could become a cast member of the film. That is the great thing about it you aren’t just donating to actually get be part of the film or get some fabulous reward.

I have no doubt that I am not explaining this as well as Zach would, so make sure you check out the video and let me know what you think. I personally think it is pretty freaking cool.
