President Obama Pokes Fun at Jay-Z & Taylor Swift!
Barack Obama is a controversial president, but we hope everyone can agree on one thing: The guy can land a punchline. At Saturday's annual White House Correspondents Dinner, the president gave a scathingly funny speech, lampooning himself, the press, Congress, and a few A-list celebrities. On not looking at pictures of herself after red carpet events:
“I think the biggest faux pas is to actually look at the picture, you know? Things always photograph differently and it’s about how you feel on the night. It’s walking out the door and [thinking], ‘Ah, I feel great about this.’ Why would you go home and be like, ‘Oh no. That’s what I look like?’ Why ruin the illusion?”
On picking what to wear:
“I don’t know, it just has to feel right. There are a lot of things that I see on other people that I love, but I would never put on myself just because it wouldn’t look good. I think the most important thing is to feel good. That’s something I learned young.”
On nabbing a standout piece from the “Gossip Girl” set:
Is there any one standout piece that you have been able to snare from the set of Gossip Girl?
“It’s the first piece that I saw [while filming] Gossip Girl—a Gucci handbag, embroidered, with a bamboo handle wrapped in leather and rose-gold details. It was so beautiful that I said to the costume designer, ‘Oh. I can’t imagine…do you think one day I could buy something like that?’ She called Gucci, came back and said, ‘They said you can have it.’ It’s still one of my very, very favourite pieces.”

On her ‘Liberal Arts’ character zibby offering Jesse her virginity:
“Being 35 and taking a girl’s virginity? That’s crazy… If I were an older man and I saw a girl my age, who maybe didn’t know herself that well, I would find her so unappealing, because if you’re in it for sex, the sex won’t be that great. But when I see a woman in her 40s and up, I think, God, you know a lot. One day, I’ll get to be desired like you.”
On her supportive father:
“My dad’s greatest pleasure is watching his kids do what they want to do. Nowadays, he loves going to my sisters’ fashion shows or coming to visit me on set.”
On her thought that being single is necessary to love thyself:
“It’s made me appreciate the things that I need to feel fulfilled. Sometimes, when I’m in a relationship, I get so excited to be around the other person that I forget to indulge the things that I need to be happy on a day-to-day basis. Or at least I did—I’m such a different person now than I was two years ago.”
On working hard to make a name for herself on her own:
“There’s definitely a reason why I went to so many acting conservatories. The more I trained, the less people could say, ‘Oh, she’s just so-and-so’s sister.’ They can still say that, sure—I have no control over that—but at least I know I’ve worked hard. There was definitely a time when I overcompensated, but I’m kind of over that.”
Director Josh Radnor on Elizabeth Olsen:
“You’d be surprised by how many young actors show up not knowing their lines,” he says. “Lizzie isn’t one of them. She puts a lot of thought into her characters, but she doesn’t show her homework.”

Amanda Bynes Cheek Piercing: Fashion Fail!
Okay, I don’t want to simply jump on the dog pile. I don’t want to come off as a bully, either. But this column is supposed to be about celebrities who make unfortunate fashion decisions, and this fits the bill.
Amanda Bynes apparently decided to pierce both cheeks. She has metal studs coming from both sides of her face, in exactly the same place. They are little little silvery dimples.
I just find it trashy. She is better than that. If you look at the old pictures of her, she had a simply look that worked for her.
Everyone is now saying that she is losing her mind. Some of the things she says and Tweets might support that, but that’s not what I’m going for.
I just think she should have thought twice before putting holes in her cheeks.

Les Miserables Posters
Gearing up for the Christmas Day release date, “Les Miserables” has unveiled a pair of new promotional character posters.
The new artwork includes images of Sacha Baron Cohen teamed with Helena Bonham Carter, and Eddie Redmayne with Amanda Seyfried.
Directed by Tom Hooper, “Les Miserables” also stars Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Banks, and Russell Crowe.
Per the synopsis, “Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit.”

Usher Says The World 'Deserves' An Usher/Adele Collaboration
'Unfortunately, she's the closest to breaking my record for the last 10 years,' singer says of Adele catching up with his chart record.

He really loves <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a>, even if she's threatening his position as an album-sales record holder. </P><P> </P><P>"If I have to confess, I have to confess that I have told a few people not to go and buy Adele's album because I don't want her to go and break my record," he joked to <a href="http://www.pressparty.com/pg/newsdesk/usher/view/43207/" target="_blank">Capital FM</a> in the U.K. The <i>21</i> singer's record-setting album has come close to beating the record held by his own album <i>Confessions</i> for <a href="/news/articles/1676522/adele-usher-best-sales-record.jhtml">most albums sold in one year</a>. </P><P> </P><P>"No, actually, I love her. Unfortunately, she's the closest to breaking my record for the last 10 years. So now, guys, don't go and buy that album right now." </P><P> </P><P>But if he can't beat her, he'll join her. He hinted in the same interview that he would love the chance to collaborate with the broken-hearted songstress. "I think the world deserves an <a href="http://www.pressparty.com/pg/newsdesk/usher/view/43230/" target="_blank">Usher and Adele record</a>," he said. "That's what I think." </P><P> </P><P>Well, Usher will get his chance to prove his chart dominance once again when he drops his new album later this year. He's currently out promoting its lead single, the sexy, sultry, Diplo-produced <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/16/usher-diplo-climax-love-affair-song/">"Climax."</a> </P><P> </P><P>The singer released a video for the track earlier this month. The sexy clip follows two lovers engaged in a hot, steamy love affair. Usher wrestles with the ramifications of their relationship, pondering it all in his car, with a gun not far away. </P><P> </P><P>Leading to the video's climax, Usher watches his lady with her other man, then runs in the house, fires off his gun and runs away. Viewers are left wondering if it was nothing more than a daydream as the video ends with the singer once again sitting in his car, still reflecting, as he pulls away from the supposed crime scene.</p>

Bieber debuts 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' video (and performs with Busta Rhymes and Usher) during 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center.'

<P>Deck the halls! The holiday kicked into high gear Wednesday night (November 30) when New York's massive Christmas tree was lit during "Christmas in Rockefeller Center." Plenty of A-listers were on hand, including Justin Bieber, who premiered his highly anticipated <a href="/news/articles/1673689/justin-bieber-mariah-carey-christmas-video.jhtml">video for "All I Want for Christmas Is You,"</a> featuring Mariah Carey. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber Rocks Rockefeller Center" id="vid:715720" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Before the strings of lights were illuminated, performances from Michael Bublé, Katharine McPhee, Big Time Rush, Tony Bennett, Carole King and Neil Diamond warmed viewers up. But Bieber was the headline act of the night, giving fans some big performances and an even bigger video premiere. </P><P> </P><P>Bieber amped up the energy with his hip-hop-ified take on the Christmas classic <a href="/news/articles/1673334/justin-bieber-mariah-carey-christmas-song.jhtml">"Little Drummer Boy,"</a> which included him spitting a holiday-themed rhyme. Decked in all black, the teen star had the crowd screaming. He was even joined by Busta Rhymes, who appears on the <i>Under the Mistletoe</i> cut. </P><P> </P><P>JB then slowed things down with <a href="/news/articles/1673032/justin-bieber-usher-christmas-song.jhtml">"The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),"</a> leaving his female fans swooning as he crooned the holiday standard. He was joined by his mentor Usher for the track. </P><P> </P><P>"God bless and Merry Christmas," Bieber told the crowd before tossing to the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" video. The clip features Mariah Carey dressed in a sexy Santa Claus outfit standing in a department store as she dances around singing the track, almost as if she's on display for holiday shoppers. It also sees Bieber and his pals shopping for some choice holiday gifts like high-top kicks. </P><P> </P><P>In between performance shots of Bieber and Mariah, a street-corner Santa Claus hands out envelopes to shoppers on the street, teasing an inevitable yuletide party scene. The shoppers are then welcomed into the department store, where Justin and Mariah hand out gifts to everyone. The duo tease and flirt with each other as everyone around them unwraps their gifts. </P><P> </P><P>Bieber and Carey re-recorded her classic holiday tune for his chart-topping holiday album, which also features appearances from the Band Perry and Boyz II Men. Complete list of 2012 BRIT Award winners
On Tuesday night (February 21), the 2012 BRIT Awards have named the year’s big winners during an exciting O2 Arena ceremony in London, England.
Taking home the top prize of Best British album and a total of two trophies was Adele, while other big winners included the Coldplay as Best British group, Ed Sheernan as Best British Male/British Breakthrough Act and One Direction landing Best Single for their track titled “What Makes You Beautiful”.
With viewers being led through the crowning of category picks by host James Corden, fans were also treated to dazzling performances by the likes of Coldplay, Rihanna, Florence + The Machine, Bruno Mars, Adele and closing act Blur.
Remembering the fallen music icons, the ceremony featured tributes to Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse (watch below) while Emeli Sande nabbed Critics’ Choice honors.
