Katie Holmes couldn’t get away from Tom Cruise fast enough! Apparently her car ended up in front of a garbage truck this week with little Suri on board.
I guess in LA you get chased on the freeway by paparazzi, and in New York, you get smashed by garbage men. Anyway, Katie was not driving at the time, but she and Suri were in a nice Mercedes in the Chelsea area of New York. Yes, that’s the area where she moved into a ridiculous nice new apartment.
Anyway, they were leaving somewhere called the Chelsea Piers recreational center when the accident happened. Police say that a garbage truck was turning when it rammed into the side of their car. There were no injuries reported.
Obviously this would have been horribly tragic if things were different. Thank goodness they are okay. A “source” told PEOPLE Magazine that Suri was crying after the accident, but that she was not hurt.
The whirlwind divorce was done in record breaking time. I think that’s because Tom didn’t want her to talk about anything about their life behind closed doors. Katie now has primary custody and seems to be enjoying life with Suri. They’ve been going to the zoo, going out for ice cream and doing normal mother-daughter stuff.
Meanwhile another story hit about Tom Cruise taking Suri up in a helicopter to see New York City. What a lucky kid. I just hope this whole divorce thing doesn’t cause trouble for her as a kid. So many people grow up with issues, especially celeb kids. Maybe she is young enough to where they can raise her and keep her away from the trouble, but we have yet to see how all of that will play out.
