The duo sat down with MTV News in Berlin to discuss a pair of unlikely collaborations.

<P>Theirs is a relationship that has spanned time and Twitter, <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/77286418598211584" target="_blank">seafood</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/157523381602889728" target="_blank">shaving</a>, but over the years, the unlikely bond between the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/black_keys/artist.jhtml">Black Keys</a> and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/id_3213641/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> has grown to become something <i>more</i>: a genuine friendship, marked with the occasional trespassing charge.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Would The Black Keys Ever Collaborate With Ke$ha?" id="vid:731631.id:1678505" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>"We're friends with her, we've known her since way before she was famous, before she was even a singer, I guess," Keys drummer Patrick Carney told MTV News. "When she was 16 years old, she used to sneak into our shows. We kind of became friends with her by kicking her out of our backstage room, over and over again. She actually has snuck into shows in L.A., San Diego, Coachella ..."</P><P>"She snuck in and [got] kicked out of one show, like, <i>five</i> times," frontman Dan Auerbach added. "[She] snuck in through the kitchen. I don't know if she's such a big fan; she just likes breaking the rules."</P><P>So, when MTV News sat down with the 'Keys in Berlin during the premiere of their <a href="/news/articles/1678662/black-keys-gold-on-the-ceiling-music-video.jhtml">"Gold on the Ceiling"</a> video, we had to ask if their friendship with Ke$ha would take the next step: an actual musical collaboration. It's not all that far-fetched, considering both Ke$h and Auerbach live in Nashville ("I see her every once in a while flying by in her T-Top [convertible]," Auerbach laughed), and recently, the glittery one has logged studio time with <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/160846424609787906" target="_blank">the Flaming Lips</a>. So, could we see a team-up on the next Black Keys album?</P><P>"I guess, I don't know," Carney said. "We don't really do that many collaborations, really."</P><P>OK, so if a Ke$ha collabo isn't in the cards, just who would the 'Keys like to work with next? Well, as it turns out, they've got their eyes set on landing a very big star for the next record ... even if they mistakenly believe he's deceased.</P><P>"We both want to work with Jim Nabors very badly, but apparently he's not with us anymore," Carney said. Oh, <a href="http://www.jimnabors.com/" target="_blank">but he is.</a> Which means that, much like Nabors, the dream is alive. The Ke$ha collabo? It seems like the question of ‘women having it all’ is eternally floating around, and Gwen Stefani is one of many celeb moms to address the idea. She recently spoke out– quite candidly– about the limitations of making music and having a family at the same time. Honestly, it was so refreshing to hear a celebrity admit that it’s kind of impossible to do everything at one time! Hear what she had to say about motherhood, the return of No Doubt, and the unlikelihood of another Gwen Stefani solo album, inside.
Here’s an excerpt from Gwen‘s interview with The Daily Record:
Gwen Stefani had to juggle looking after her two children, her clothing line and her successful solo career – and making a new album with her band No Doubt.
But the 42-year-old singer was determined to record the new album. Even a bout of writing block didn’t deter the feisty Californian from achieving her goal, despite the tricky logistics of the band having eight children between them.
But Gwen, who has sons Kingston, six, and Zuma, four, with Scots musician husband Gavin Rossdale, admitted recording the new music took all the drive she could find.
She said: “We were only able to get together three days a week and, because I had the kids, there was only a limited amount of time. I was exhausted by the time I got there, so it was a struggle trying to weigh and balance everything out with the kids.
“But it was that fight that made the record so great, just really wanting it, and saying, ‘No, and I don’t care that Kingston is in school ‘till 3pm, let’s meet at 10am and write the record’ – whatever it took. I don’t know where that drive comes from.”
The band had planned to record an album much earlier but, after two successful solo albums and two kids, Gwen admitted she was exhausted and “there was nothing left to say or do”.

And Gwen admitted, given the number of children the band have, the challenge of trying to travel the world is a big one.
She said: “We’ll have to learn from Angelina and Brad.”

I think we hear so much about women who have it all, and yes, we also hear about the complexities of mothering and career-ing but I think some of the things Gwen said really make sense. I, for one, would love it if people would stop suggesting that women should be trying to have it all; it’ s exhausting! And as the rock star herself points out, it really is quite impossible. Because something (or someone) will ultimately, always be sacrificed. Which is what navigating life consists of, I suppose– having some of the things you want, sacrificing things you don’t need and making the best life for yourself and your family (and, as I’ve heard it, Angelina and Brad operate in this way with their family as well). Whether or not you have it all should be irrelevant! That you have some things and some very important people should be quite enough. Methinks.
What do you guys think of Gwen‘s interview? Are you disappointed that she won’t go solo again? I was definitely into her 2004 solo Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (oh my gosh, that track with Slim Thug?!?!), but honestly, I love No Doubt as a group. Recently, we got to hear their newest single Settle Down and I’m really looking forward to the new album.

I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would've taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here's a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

Israel born actress Natalie Portman was spotted traveling with Benjamin Millepied and their 1-year-old son Aleph as the trio arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday (July 29).
It seems the 31-year-old Black Swan actress was traveling with a fourth – and rather hairy – family member as well – their precious pooch Whiz!
Natalie has recently threatened to sue Bollywood actor-producer Saif Ali Khan after he announced that they would collaborate on a Hindi film but according to The Times of India, he later clarified that he had been joking and had started the rumor in response to constant media reports on his personal life.
“It was a joke, I am sorry,” the actor explains. “It’s just that I am very annoyed with speculations on all the aspects of my life.”
“If this goes on, I might just start making up stories like these to entertain myself,” he adds. “Hope people will understand that.”
Natalie’s management team issued the legal notice after Khan went on record saying that the two would feature in a romantic comedy together.

Kile Glover, 11, remains hospitalized after suffering traumatic head injury.

<P><a href="/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>'s stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, remains in the hospital after suffering a traumatic head injury during a <a href="/news/articles/1689261/usher-kyle-glover-jet-ski-jeffrey-s-hubbard.jhtml">jet-ski accident</a> last weekend. Glover, the son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, was <a href="/news/articles/1689206/ushers-stepson-declared-brain-dead-after-jet-ski-accident.jhtml">pronounced brain dead</a> on Sunday, but his family has issued a statement, saying that they are keeping positive thoughts and asking for prayers.</P><P>"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the family told <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/10/showbiz/usher-stepson-injured/index.html" target="_blank">CNN</a> in a statement. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."</P><P>According to CNN, Glover's family has already held a vigil for him at the hospital, and Usher visited the 11-year-old the morning after he was admitted to the hospital. The two had reportedly grown close during the R&B singer's two-year marriage to Foster.</P><P>The accident took place on Friday (July 6) when Glover and a second victim, a 15-year-old girl, were struck by a jet-ski while floating on an inner tube in Atlanta's Lake Lanier. Both children were airlifted to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston pediatric hospital. The girl is reported to have suffered from a cut on the head and a broken arm, while Glover took the brunt of the trauma to his head.</P><P>The man driving the jet ski has been identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard, a family friend. At this time the police have determined that no drugs were involved, and no charges are being pressed. On Sunday TMZ reported that Glover was declared brain dead when doctors determined that he had not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital on Friday.</P><P>Friends of Usher and his ex-wife have sent their well-wishes to the family via Twitter. "Wishing @TamekaRaymond's son godspeed recovery. horrible news to hear," Roots drummer Questlove tweeted, while Jermaine Dupri added, "Lifers! pls say a prayer for man Ryan, Tameka, Usher and the Glover family."</p>

It's all well and good that Ben Stiller works consistently as the prolific writer/director/actor/all-around funnyman that he's made himself out to be. And while we're happy about all of his upcoming projects like this week's "The Watch" and next year's "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty," the movie we'd really like to see him make sooner rather than later is that long-rumored/delayed sequel to "Zoolander."
Stiller's co-star Owen Wilson has mentioned a few intriguing details about the plot of the proposed film, which he's affectionately dubbed "Twolander" or "Zoo 2," in recent years, but since we haven't heard anything from Derek himself lately, we had to get an update from Stiller when MTV News caught up with him during the "Watch" press day.
According to the film's IMDb page, which we all know tend to include "creative interpretations" of facts every now and again, Stiller's "Watch" co-star Jonah Hill is "rumored" to be involved with "Zoolander 2." We asked Hill and Stiller for their thoughts on the subject and of course, the reliability of those IMDb "facts."
"Sure [I'd do it], if he hires me," Hill said.
"Yeah if we're going to make Zoolander 2," Stiller added. "This is what's great about IMDb, it just takes information and wrangles it into some weird Internet thing. But yeah, we're not even making the movie right now but I would do it with you," he said to Hill, putting special emphasis on the "do it," which sent the "21 Jump Street," star into a fit of giggles.
Alright so someday when "Zoolander 2" finally starts filming, Jonah Hill might do it with Stiller, Wilson and Co. Next up on our future movie fact-finding agenda was to find out whether or not Stiller's hilarious and macho Spanish-speaking TV reporter from "Anchorman" will be featured in "Anchorman 2."
"Oh, I have not been asked but I'm available," Stiller said. "I was happy to be a part of [the first movie]."

But he didn't play much of "Boyfriend": The focus was on his new single, "As Long as You Love Me." Yesterday we heard about a hotel replacing their Gideon Bibles with copies of 50 Shades Of Grey and today we have this; the first photo from a Marc New York ad campaign that will draw on inspiration from THE book to end all books (even, apparently, The Bible). I think they’ve got the right idea over there at Marc New York; they’ve cast a couple of minor celebs and the ad is pretty hot (damn, gotta read this book)! Checkie out!

Conceived and photographed by Andrew Marc’s creative director, Chris Gbur, the ads feature Celebrity Apprentice contestant and Miss Universe winner Dayana Mendoza as an unzipped Ana (whose inner goddess is no doubt doing backflips), and former Scottish rugby player Thom Evans as Christian in nothing but a towel (you know, hanging ‘in that way’ from his hips).
The ad will break in the September and October issues of Glamour and People StyleWatch magazine–and we have to say, it does a great job of realizing the fictional characters. We’re not sure whether the setting is meant to be Christian’s playroom or part of his palatial apartment, but whatever, it works. Or, in the always-eloquent words of Ana: Holy Cow! Whoa! Jeez, this looks good.
For those of you who’ve read the book, do you agree that this is a solid interpretation? Either way, I love the ad and I really hope they’ll have some other photos inspired by the story. I mean, it’s about sex so they can’t really go wrong… right?
Also, is that really how Ana talks in the book? No judgement! Just curious… lol.

Doting daddy David Beckham planted a smooch on his daughter Harper Seven, 12 months, alongside wife Victoria Beckham who were seen leaving 202 restaurant in Notting Hill in London, England on Thursday (July 26).
The trio were dressed in their best as they headed to a public meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron. The football hunk presented the Prime Minister with a petition signed by celebrities urging that action be taken to end child hunger.
David spoke at the meeting: “Right now, there are 335,000 children suffering from severe malnutrition in West Africa. It shouldn’t be like this. And, together, we can make a change.”
The petition explains in depth, “180 million children under the age of 5 – stunting. If a child doesn’t get the right nutrients in their first 1,000 days of life, the damage to their brain and body cannot be undone.”
And, of course, Posh and Becks are in town for the Summer Olympics! The soccer stud wrote the following piece for The Sun, outlining his excitement.
“I have been lucky enough to have been involved in some amazing sporting moments in my career, but nothing can compare with what is about to take place in London.
You can feel the excitement building to a fever pitch wherever you go in the country and I am as excited as anyone.
This is an amazing sporting event — probably one of the biggest sporting events in history — and for it to happen now, in London, and especially in the East End of London where I grew up, is just brilliant.
I know every part of the Games is going to be spectacular and tonight is the night it all kicks off, with the whole world watching Great Britain and the opening ceremony.
It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I know I am biased but, what the rest of the world will see, I don’t think any other country in the world could do it better.”
Londoner Becks played a major role in bringing the Games to his hometown, and has what he calls “a small part” in tonight’s opening ceremony.

Ang Lee (Oscar-winning director of Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Sense and Sensibility) is determined to change our lives… again. The new trailer for Life Of Pi is beautiful and intense and moving, all in about two minutes worth of shots with no dialogue. It’s as fantastic as the Oz, The Great And Powerful trailer, but moves the viewer with images reminiscent of Beasts Of The Southern Wild. Also got a Noah‘s ark vibe as well. Real, live, epic poetry in motion, inside.
Life Of Pi: First Trailer
Ang Lee is absolutely brilliant, but I understand that he had a great work of art as his starting point; Life Of Pi, the best-selling novel by Yann Martel. I don’t know what rock I’ve been living under, but I still haven’t read this book, although I definitely remember hearing about it. I understand that the story follows an Indian boy named Pi, who is (as we saw) shipwrecked at sea with a Bengal tiger. In the film, Suraj Sharma plays Pi and Tobey Maguire will play Martel, the book’s Canadian author. Something tells me this movie will be all-the-more spectacular after a close reading of the novel.
Who’s read the book? Maybe you can tell the rest of us how this trailer compares. I, for one, am excited!

, Ush will debut in the #1 spot on the <I>Billboard</I> 200 chart with his seventh album, <a href="/news/articles/1687242/usher-looking-4-myself-reviews.jhtml"><I>Looking 4 Myself</I></a>.</P><P>According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, he sold 128,000 copies of the disc. The debut was the fourth #1 bow in a row for Usher, though it was significantly down from the 329,000 copies sold by his previous album, 2010's <I>Raymond V. Seeing praise for his 'Snuggie Version' tribute on B's website was 'the best moment of my life,' 16-year-old superfan tells MTV News.

<P>When Ton Do-Nguyen uploaded his shot-for-shot <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/18/beyonce-fan-video-countdown-snuggie">recreation of Beyoncé's "Countdown" video</a> to the Web, he didn't expect it to be seen by anyone other than his friends and family. But with more than 500,000 views on YouTube and the stamp of approval from the Queen B herself, the junior class president from Pennsylvania has quickly learned the power of the Internet.</P><P>"I'm going on her website, and I just start screaming," Ton said about reading a post in which <a href="http://www.beyonce.com/news/brilliant" target="_blank">Beyoncé praises his "Snuggie Version,"</a> calling it "brilliant."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ton Do-Nguyen Made His Beyonce Parody For 'Fun'" id="vid:816890" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"That was literally the best moment of my life — hands down," the 16-year-old told MTV News. "I was scared she would get mad. ... When she posted it on her wall and everything, it was so positive."</P><P>It's not just the superstar singing Ton's praises either: Everyone from <a href="https://twitter.com/PerezHilton/status/225726296385277952" target="_blank">Perez Hilton</a> to "Glee" star <a href="https://twitter.com/iharryshum/status/225651447864360960" target="_blank">Harry Shum Jr.</a> are bowing down to the Snuggie-clad tribute, with the same question on everybody's mind: How the heck did he do it?</P><P>"For each specific part, I would just look on YouTube and try and get it down to a T in front of my mirror and go off and film it," Ton explained. "It's so tiring, and do you know what it's like to be in a Snuggie in the middle of July?"</P><P>And while the sleeved blanket was originally used merely as a fashion statement to set the two clips apart, Ton revealed that the body-length fleece ended up serving useful in the production as well: "I used my Snuggie as a blue screen and wore a blue shirt and then I just did my thing."</P><P><i>What do you think of Ton Do-Nguyen's recreation of "Countdown"? Wayne Coyne talks about what happens when you work with 'freaks' like Ke$ha on The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/flaming_lips/artist.jhtml">Flaming Lips</a> mastermind Wayne Coyne took away more than just <a href="http://pitchfork.com/news/46404-flaming-lips-blood-vinyl-10-copies-2500-features-keha-erykah-badu-nick-cave-chris-martin-blood/" target="_blank">a vial of blood</a> when he traveled to Nashville to record with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a>. (Though, really, you'd think that would be enough.) He also left with his first-ever tattoo ... not to mention a newfound respect for the wild-child pop star.</P><P>"Most of the time, if someone's willing to work with me, they're going to be a freak. And Ke$ha ... I sort of thought that she would be a freak, I'd heard about her and we'd tried to get a hold of her earlier," Coyne told MTV News backstage at the <a href="/news/articles/1685474/dave-matthews-band-hangout-fest.jhtml">Hangout Fest</a> in Gulf Shores, Alabama. "We showed up at her house, and she has a tattoo gun that she gives everyone a tattoo with, so within 20 minutes of being at her house, I had a tattoo on my toe; it's the only tattoo I've ever had.</P><P>"We were set to do this one song that I had prepared, and we went into the studio that night, and stayed there until about 2 in the morning, and did four songs, just making stuff up," he continued. "And the next day [we] worked for another couple hours. She's funny, she's gracious, she's imaginative, she's creative and she's <i>a lot</i> of fun to be around."</P><P>The result of that collaboration (a song called "2012") shows up on the Lips' special Record Store Day double-LP, <i>The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends,</i> a thoroughly out-there collection of songs and sound-collages that — as the title implies — the band recorded with the likes of Bon Iver, Nick Cave, Neon Indian, Yoko Ono and, uh, Coldplay's Chris Martin ... to name just a few. But will fans get to hear even <i>more</i> of the Flaming Lips/Ke$ha team-up? Well, Coyne certainly hopes so.</P><P>"We really loved making this music together — I think I've probably done six or seven songs with her — and I know a lot of her fans like ['2012'], but I don't know if we'll put more songs out there," he said. "She has other agendas besides doing music with Wayne, you know, but I hope so, because I think it's really great, crazy, <i>unexpected</i> music. And she, to her credit, loves what we do. She wants it to be whatever. She has no limits of what she wants it to be."</P><P>And don't think the <i>Heady Fwends</i> sessions will be the last time Coyne and Ke$ha share time (or blood) in the studio. If anything, the Lips' recent output of, uh, <i>non-traditional</i> releases — songs encased in gummy skulls and fetuses, 24-hour noise-jam freakouts that <a href="http://flaminglipstwentyfourhoursong.com/" target="_blank">play for all eternity</a>, limited-edition vinyl filled with actual blood, etc — suggests Coyne and Co. are just getting started ... and they're going to get even weirder before they're finished.</P><P>"That's been the beautiful thing about all of these weird collaborations and projects; you work with <i>freaks.</i> Even working with someone like Chris Martin, he's very open to, like, 'Let's do stuff!' That's the great surprise about it," Coyne said. "I don't think people are surprised when we work with a group like Lightning Bolt or Neon Indian — people think of us as like-minded — but the surprising thing with the Chris Martins or the Ke$has, they're like us too, they just don' play music that sounds like that all the time."</p>

Iggy fans, rejoice! A while back we got to hear a new single (Million Dollar Misfits) from the Australian rapper and this weekend she dropped a new video with T.I. for Murda Bizness. The video is pretty hilarious, as Iggy Azalea transforms into the perfectly horrific pageant Mom, and little girls in tiaras equate show business with murda bizness. Persoanlly I love watching Iggy more than I love listening to her. She’s a compelling performer, but I haven’t fallen in love with her voice yet. It’s entertaining, but I’m not sure how authentic it is. Still, I’m looking forward to hearing more from her– she’s definitely got my attention.
This upcoming week is a biggy for Iggy. She’s supposedly dropping a new single with Mike Posner, and her EP Glory is supposed to follow shortly thereafter (although it’s been pushed back before). Still, sweetness!

As we reported last week, Usher‘s stepson and Tameka Foster‘s eldest child Kile Glover had been diagnosed brain dead and was on life support following a horrific jet ski accident. We also learned that the 11-year old’s insurance coverage would only allow him to be on life support for so long, and was expected to expire within a few months. TMZ now reports that Tameka Foster made an impossibly difficult decision and took young Kile off life support. This has been a weekend filled with tragic events; Kile‘s passing is indeed another.
TMZ has the unfortunate details:
Usher’s 11-year-old stepson has passed away this morning from injuries suffered in a tragic jetski accident in Georgia earlier this month … TMZ has learned.
Doctors removed 11-year-old Kyle Glover from life support after it was determined the injuries were too severe to overcome. We’re told Kyle’s mother, Tameka Foster, struggled tremendously with the decision.
According to our sources, Tameka is understandably devastated.
Glover was injured on July 8 … as he was riding in an inner tube that was connected to a pontoon in Lake Lanier. According to authorities, a family friend who was riding a jetski behind the pontoon lost control and collided with Glover’s tube.
The accident is currently under investigation.
I saw many tweets about this earlier in the day (the first from Russell Simmons) but it hadn’t been confirmed by other sources (and one of the original stories had been discredited), so I was really hoping that misinformation was spreading. As it turns out, the rumors are true and a mother has lost her son.
Many of you (some in the healthcare profession) commented on an earlier post and suggested that Tameka would be doing the right thing, if she chose to remove Kile from life support. I was reluctant to say what she should or shouldn’t have done; the whole situation is really just awful. As I said before, I just hope that she has lots of support from family, friends, and (hopefully) the media during this time.
